The much-anticipated “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” has made its debut with the release of the first two episodes, and, as a devoted fan of Legendary monster movies, I dove right in to share my initial, spoiler-free reaction. Directed by the talented Matt Shakman, known for his work on Wandavision and Game of Thrones, these episodes set the stage for what promises to be an epic continuation of Legendary’s Monsterverse.

Matt Shakman’s directorial expertise shines through in these early episodes, leaving an indelible mark on the series. With a resume that includes the entirety of Wandavision and numerous episodes of Game of Thrones and Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Shakman’s touch is evident. His upcoming venture into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the Fantastic Four movie seems to be in excellent hands, based on the quality of these initial “Monarch” episodes.
